EQUIPMENT

We pride ourselves in using the best equipment and keeping up with the latest technology in dental science. Digital x-ray and Cerec porcelain restorations are exciting advances in dentistry that we are utilizing in our office. Click the links to the left to learn more and discover just how they can be of benefit to you.

Cerec

Cerec is a new state of the art technology used for the fabrication of pure ceramic dental restorations from crowns to onlays in one office visit (before and after pictures displayed to the right). Imagine leaving the office with a beautiful 100% porcelain crown, with no bad tasting impressions, no temporary crown, and no follow up visit. In just over one hour we can prepare your tooth and take digital images of the preparation. Computers and advanced software enable us to design and mill a precise fitting porcelain restoration, which is then bonded to the tooth. This process, using tooth colored porcelain, is very much like placing a new enamel covering over your tooth. It is then restored to its natural strength, beauty and function. Cerec is used for more than just crowns and onlays; it can be used to repair chipped or discolored teeth.

Your smile will make a lasting impression, let us enhance it with Cerec restorations.

Digital X-Rays

There are three advantages of digital x-rays over traditional x-rays.

  1. The sensors used in digital radiography are much more sensitive. This means we can turn the setting of our x-ray machines down significantly and still obtain a high quality image, using less exposure time.
  2. The individual images of the teeth are much larger with digital; the image fills the entire computer screen; unlike the traditional image which is the size of a large postage stamp. This increases our ability to give a more accurate diagnosis.
  3. Using digital x-rays is helping the environment by eliminating the use of toxic chemicals necessary in processing traditional x-rays.
